Fence Works has been building fences in the Louisville metro area for over 25 years. We started as a locally owned operation and we've intentionally stayed that way. We're not a national franchise with a 1-800 number and rotating crews. We're a local company with people who live here, work here, and take real pride in what they build.
We've built our reputation one fence at a time. Word of mouth. Referrals from neighbors. Customers who come back years later for a second property or send their family to us. That doesn't happen unless you actually do good work — and we've been doing it long enough to know the difference.
Our philosophy has always been simple: show up when we say we will, use quality materials, build it right, and stand behind our work. That's it. Everything else follows from that.

The Team
Fence Works is a locally owned and operated company. When you call us, you talk to us. When we come out for your estimate, that’s someone from our team — not a sub or a third party. When we build your fence, it’s our crew on the job from start to finish.
We’re proud of the team we’ve built. These are experienced, trained professionals who know the trade and take their work seriously. Multiple members of our crew have completed AFA Field Training School certification. We don’t put inexperienced people on jobs and hope for the best.
How We Think About the Work
We believe it’s better to work up to a higher standard than down to a lower price. That means we use prime materials on every job — no swapping in cheaper lumber or cutting back on post depth because the customer won’t know the difference. We’d know. And a year or two later, so would the customer.
We treat every property like it’s our own. That means we’re careful with your yard during the build, we spread posthole dirt back into the lawn so it settles properly, we haul away all debris, and we leave the site cleaner than we found it. We’ve heard the horror stories about fence companies that leave a mess or damage landscaping and shrug it off. That’s not us.
We’re also one of the few fence companies in this area that takes training seriously. We regularly send our crew to American Fence Association Field Training School and stay current on industry standards, materials, and installation methods. We attend trade shows. We’re involved in the AFA. We’ve been members for over 20 years and we hold ourselves to their code of ethics on every project.
