Gate Installation in Louisville & Southern Indiana
A fence without a gate isn't finished. We install manual and automatic gates for driveways, pool enclosures, backyards, and commercial entrances — built to match your fence perfectly.
Gates Done Right — From the Ground Up
Gates seem simple until you actually have to install one correctly. The post sizing, the hinge placement, the swing direction, the hardware selection — it all matters if you want a gate that opens, closes, and stays in alignment year after year. At Fence Works, we plan the gate from the very beginning of your project so it's not an afterthought.
We install manual and automatic gates in wood, vinyl, aluminum, and chain link for residential and commercial properties across Louisville and Southern Indiana. Whether you need a simple walk gate for your backyard, a double driveway gate for your property entrance, or a heavy-duty automated gate for a commercial facility, we've got the experience to do it right.
Types of Gates We Install
Driveway Gates
Single and double swing gates for residential driveways, ranch entries, and property entrances. We build and install in wood, vinyl, aluminum, and chain link — whatever matches your fence. We size the gate opening properly so the gate swings clearly and posts are set deep enough to handle the long-term weight.
Materials: Wood | Vinyl | Aluminum | Chain Link Swing: Single or double | Inward or outward swing
Walk Gates & Pedestrian Gates
Side yard gates, backyard entry gates, pool gates, access points between sections of fence. Standard width is typically 36–48 inches, though we can go wider depending on your needs. We include quality hardware — hinges, latches, and self-closing mechanisms where applicable.
Materials: Wood | Vinyl | Aluminum | Chain Link Widths: 36"–60" standard | Wider available
Pool Enclosure Gates
Pool gates have specific requirements — they typically need to be self-closing and self-latching, with the latch on the pool side to keep kids from opening it from the outside. We install pool gates that meet local code requirements and are designed to actually function the way they're supposed to over time.
Note: Aluminum is the most popular material for pool gates due to its corrosion resistance around water.
Commercial Security Gates
Heavy-duty swing and slide gates for warehouses, facilities, construction sites, and commercial properties. We build commercial gates to handle frequent daily use and the weight that comes with a larger frame and heavy-duty posts. Barbed wire and high-security options available.
Note: Slide / rolling gates available for space-restricted entries
Automatic Gate Operators
We install electric gate openers for driveways and commercial entrances — with keypad entry, remote controls, or intercom systems depending on your preference. Gate operators carry a manufacturer warranty of 1–5 years depending on the product. We'll walk you through the warranty coverage and maintenance requirements before installation.
Note: If a gate operator part needs replacement, the homeowner is responsible for parts and labor even within the Fence Works 1-year warranty period if the defect is in the manufacturer's product, not our installation.
Gate Materials
We install gates in every material we work with:
A wood gate built to match your privacy fence. We use the same prime lumber and construction methods as the fence itself.
Clean, low-maintenance, and a perfect match for a vinyl privacy or picket fence. Vinyl gates hold their look without painting or staining.
The top choice for pool enclosures and decorative applications. Powder-coated, rust-proof, and great-looking.
Practical, secure, and affordable. We can match standard galvanized or vinyl-coated chain link fencing.
Warranty Information
All Fence Works gate installations are covered under our standard 1-year workmanship warranty. Automatic gate operators are covered by their manufacturer's warranty (typically 1–5 years, varies by product) — we'll provide you with all manufacturer warranty documentation at the time of installation. If a part on a gate operator needs replacement, contact us and we'll handle the service call — you'll be responsible for the part cost and labor if it falls outside of our workmanship warranty scope.
